Another from the series 'Corpus, Mentis et Animus' I shot in 2003.
This was the idea that started the series in my fractured little mind. The pose came from Aubrey Beardsley [one of my fav artists] and his illustrations for Oscar Wilde's 'Salome'.
Thanks go to Francis and Bacon, your legend lives on
Comments, thoughts and criticisms are always welcome. And my apologies to all the deviant vegetarians who might be offended by this. I'm not well
ahh yes i indeed enjoy this work, hey i recall in entropy the uni mag, there was this shot, i think, or another version of it. the pig looks so at peace. yea a fav for sure, i should of done that to my wombat
You leave your wombat out of this.
Yes, a different version was in Entropy. THAT was the original and there was only ever one print made of it, care of Mr B, and that has since disappeared, along with the negative Clearly it was never meant to exist!
So I'm resorting to this version instead which was the backup and second of 5 shots from this session. Ce la vie.
it can be scary destroying all the colour information, but sometimes the simplicity of b&w is a lot more powerful, hard to decide between them at times

i've tasted of the fruit, and it's opened up my eyes, it's given me a thirst that's so hard to satisfy...
Actually this is one of a pair that I got from a butcher down in Tranmere.
He thought I was going to use them for soup
Imagine his face when I corrected him
[I think this one was Bacon - Francis was a bit smaller and more girlish]

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Project Comment is a project that features the generally obscured and underappreciated artists and their art in regular news articles. Our objective is to recognise deviants who deserve more recognition and to feature deviations with less than 10 original comments.
The 0-5 Comments Issues feature a deviant as well as 3 deviations with less than 5 original comments from a wide selection of art. Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here.

I am starting to consider tinkering with B&W again so I may continue this series, after 3 years of actively avoiding it
